Rumors Mount That Janet Jackson Could Be The New X Factor Judge

We haven’t heard much since all the shenanigans of the departure of Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger from X Factor a few weeks ago. We did hear some rumors about Mariah Carey being a possible replacement, but nothing further has come of that goss.. for now. Today we have info that looks as if they [...]

So … yeah … David and I arrived in Amsterdam without incident to celebrate our 6 year anniversary and … he got down on one knee and proposed marriage to me right on the exact spot were we met 6 years ago today. I happily said yes. That’s the short version … the longer version of our happy news is below. In light of this happy news, I have decided not to write the blog today so that David and I can get to celebrating our engagement. BUT, I do want to share a bit of our day with all of you amazing readers/friends who have kinda sorta been with us from the beginning of our relationship 6 years ago today.

After we checked into the hotel where we met back in 2006, David suggested that we go downstairs to take an anniversary photo in front of the bike rack where we met 6 years ago today. I thought that was a great idea so we made our way downstairs and started talking about how to take the photo, from what angle, etc. (I’m a stickler for detail so, yeah, it was a bit of a discussion). While we were talking, I thought I recognized my BFF Sarah but immediately put it out of my mind because we were in Amsterdam and Sarah was back home in Detroit at work as usual — and there was no way it could actually be her. David then went down on one knee, said some of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard in my life and presented me with a ring and a proposal of marriage. After I picked my jaw up off the ground, I said yes … and then freaked out! We laughed and cried a little … then decided to take a photo. He asked the girl nearby if she would take the photo for us … and IT WAS SARAH! David flew her out to Amsterdam to be here for our special moment. He knew that of all the people in the world that I would LOVE to be here with us, it had to be Sarah. AND THEN I FREAKED OUT AGAIN!

There are MILLIONS of other details that are far too numerous to detail here but David and I did want to share some part of our day with all y’all. It was because of THIS blog that I was brought to Amsterdam back in February of 2006 — which led to our meeting — and our engagement today. In a way, YOU have been with us all along so … we want to share our happiness with you.

As I said, no work for me today … I hope you don’t mind :) I’ll be back to blogging tomorrow, never fear.

For now … we celebrate. I hope YOU are having a fabulously fantastic day today. Love to you all!
